The Worldcup in Munich finished on Saturday evening, the „Free Solo Masters“ took place on Monday in Lienz (eastern Tyrol). It was my 3rd time to compete in a comp like that, but I was still nervous as fuck hahaha. Already after waking up in the morning and before driving to Lienz I told my Mum, that I’m more nervous than during competing in a Worldcup 😛
I’m a really scared-cat when I have to fall/jump down from something high. Although there was a big 3 meter high BigAirBag underneath, everybody had to fall about 13 meters from the top down to the ground..

Unfortunately I had to climb down some moves again until I felt ready to leave the holds hahahaha. It would be best for me to have a wall and an airbag like that in my garden to try it everyday, to get used to the height 😛 1 or 2 times a year is just too less to eliminate my fear..

Unfortunately a thunderstorm came and we had to take a 2 hour break until the sun came out again. We decided that the female category only climbs the 2 qualification routes and the TOP 8 will reach the final 🙂
The guys had to climb the Semifinals, because there were really many competitors. TOP 26 reached semis, and due to a little mistake of the routesetters 20 guys reached the Finals (instead of 8)!

Fanny Gilbert and me fell at the same hold in Finals, but I was slightly faster than her, so I could secure my first victory at a Free Solo event 🙂 I was so happy about that, because 2 times on the second place sucks hahaha 😉
In the mens category Alban Levier won, Rustam Gelmanov got 2nd and Sergii Topishko secured the 3rd place.

It was an amazing event – as every year. Always overwhelming how many spectators are joining the event every year!

Here is a short video to get an impression how a comp like this works 🙂
