We came home from Vail on Monday, and already on Thursday Berit and me flew to Capetown for our 4 week holiday in the Rocklands. I wrote myself a Ticklist, which contained many unfinished business of my visit 2 years ago, but also some new and harder ones I wanted to project.
During the first week I nearly finished all of those problems – thank god I got stronger haha. Fragile Steps was the 8B on my list, which I wanted to climb during the stay. The first time when I went there was on the very end of the session, and it seemed not, as if I can climb that one pretty early, because the imminant hook did not fit with any of my 3 shoes.. So I was thinking about another project, maybe Amandala? Amandala is a 8B+ highball, located at Roadcrew, with super tiny crimps and a scary last move.
The weather was really nice, sunny and windy and just one rainy day. Sometimes it was freezing cold in the wind and shade, but what for do we have down jackets, scarfs and gloves?
We stayed 8 days at the Alpha Farm, which is in my opinion the best choice to stay due to the free wifi, the hen house, nice people and really nice accomodations!
Then we moved to traveller’s rest, because the rest of our crew joined us, and we needed a bigger house 😉
Let’s see what the next 3 weeks will bring!
