The 5th stage of the worldcup circuit was Innsbruck, my second hometown. I live here due to my law studies and for training with the Austrian climbing team 🙂

It feels pretty much different, to compete here. And it was hard to get in that usual competition mood, but when I entered the Olympiaworld and watched the men’s qualification, the mood finally appeared. Unfortunately did the route setters a really bad job in men qualification group A. 13 men topped all 5 problems – but only the best 10 reached semis.

Well, nearly the same at female qualification group B (my group). You needed minimum 4 tops with very little attempts. I did the first 3 boulders in 4 tries, had then no idea of the right beta on bloc 4 and the wrong beta at the top-move at bloc 5. Shit. 3 tops were just not enough. I felt really strong, and was a bit disappointed, not to climb the next day in semis. Hope to climb again in Semis in Vail in a few weeks 🙂

I will spend a week climbing outside in Zillertal and Magic Wood, to take a little break from the stressful traveling and from the comps. Hope to climb some cool problems and some must-do projects 😉
